Primary Strategy Learning Networks – Learning and Teaching through ICT

ICT Network Events

The Primary National Strategy is offering a two-day professional development event for Learning Networks. The events comprise of two professional development days set at venues around the country, in the autumn and spring terms. These days will be linked by a task to support those leading the use of ICT across the network in helping colleagues make use of ICT to support their pupil learning focus.

In the week of the 28th of November to the 2nd December we are offering day 1 of the events for one lead literacy/numeracy subject leader per network plus the nominated person in each Local Authority with responsibility for Primary Strategy Learning Networks. The purpose of the day is to consider how colleagues across the Learning Network can be supported in using ICT to support the network’s selected learning focus. The day will give opportunities to consider the breadth of support ICT can give to learning and teaching and how in particular the professional development model of adopt, adapt and innovate can be applied across a network. Through two subject-specific sessions, delegates will also have the opportunity to gain an insight into, and to inform, the current revision of the literacy and mathematics frameworks.

These sessions are part of a two-day professional development opportunity with the second day taking place in the week commencing 20th March 2006. The second day will build on the themes developed on day 1 and allow for the sharing of network development of ICT to impact on the pupil learning focus. A further focus will be on evaluation of ICT impact across a network and reviewing progress.

As the days are linked by a follow up task it is important that subject leaders and LA PSLN representatives attend both sessions.
